Then can we make it a policy that if a team schedules a week zero game after the schedule is made that we can opt out and get another opponent.

It’s not that we are LSU it’s that until the last three years LSU was a stable program. Stable talented programs don’t need week zero against some trash team “to work the kinks out”. BK seems to have LSU bank to that level.

There's what, 45-55 non SEC power 5 schools? Find one that plays it fair and square. In fairness to your viewpoint, we can't do anything about CURRENT contracts that have already been signed. But WE SURE AS HELL can insist on that from now on. And I bet my next paycheck BK approves this message.

Verge should have been gone in short order after his complicity in the Title IX debacle. Earlier comment had it absolutely correct. If he had been a white man he would have been terminated immediately. Sad but true.

Our fans are always looking for some irrelevant and peripheral thing to blame losses on. All of the sudden we have to have week 0 games or we can’t beat UCLA or FSU. It’s pathetic.

But Verge just issuing a blanket refusal is stupid. Par for the course for him.
I'd like to see us put a clause in future contractual agreements with these week 1 opponents to disincentive the scheduling of a week 0 opponent. That might not go over well, but a boy can dream.
