I doubt Buffalo sees 6 feet of heavy, wet snow very often. Sounds Ike at least some of the deaths are unfortunate situations, like the guy dying of carbon monoxide poisoning because a snow drift was blocking his furnace exhaust.

They see snow storms enough that everyone there should have a basic level of preparation for this kind of thing.

I live in South Louisiana and keep an indoor safe propane heater with enough propane to last many days if needed.

Didn’t Buffalo have a similar snow event just a couple of weeks ago? They moved the Buffalo Bills football game to Detroit I think.
