This is not accurate. See Aikman's last game for OU.

OU-Miami 1985

First, I have no idea what conversations were had between Switzer and Aikman or Orgeron and Nuss.

But there is a parallel worth heeding. After '85 Switzer had won his 3rd natty. He held winning records against pretty much everyone in his peer group. He was far more accomplished than CBK is currently.

But as you correctly state, after Aikman's injury, they won the natty with Holloway. Going forward, whatever changes in offense Switzer was willing to make to accommodate Aikman's passing they offloaded to roll with Holloway.

From '85-'87, OU would only lose three games - all to Miami. OU was one dimensional and Miami was talented enough to stop their run game.

In hindsight, Seitzer got it wrong. Had he expanded his offense (are you listening CBK?) and stayed with Aikman, they likely win three straight nattys.

CBK is at crossroads. Choose wisely coach.
