Not gonna lie…I’m not dumb enough to tour an active volcano, spewing endless amounts of steam, located 20 miles offshore.

I watched this documentary this morning. While what happened was tragic, at some point common sense needs to prevail.

Per Wiki, tours are no longer permitted on the island following the '19 eruption. Even though it's private property. I guess NZ won't allow the public to set foot on it. Save for regulated scientific research.

There used to be mining operations on the island for sulfur, 100 years go.

But volcano tours are tricky business, in the best of conditions.
