That really nice new bridge over the Mississippi that they put way too far north to be of any real benefit for the area that needs it.

The Bayou Teche Scenic Byway is a pretty drive:

Hwy 124 from Rosefield to Duty Ferry. It goes through the Copenhagen Hills and for a few miles it's like being in the Arkansas mountains. When you crest the last ridge the Ouachita River is spread out below you. Really pretty.
Bonus: you pass the site of a honky tonk where tGOAT Jim Hawthorne was known to sing on occasion.

Agree. That ride to the house from Sam Rayburn is easy as pie once I get on that.

Now, 165 North of Pollock is nice.

River Road is really fun in a nimble car once you get south of lauberge, especially if you keep going past Highway 74

That is one rough arse road, especially when you get about 13 miles from Leesville. It’s so rough you have to drive in the left lane from there all the way into town. Also rough as sit from the lake into Alexandria

my buddy broke a boat trailer axle on that fricking stretch of hwy. Ridiculous.
If I am going west (From Morgan City area) pulling my bass boat. I go to BR and get on 10 to avoid 90 completely.

The ride on the levee is pretty cool. Seeing the locks and control structures when the river is up is an amazing site. Also pretty neat the see a barge being raised or lowered.

I dont know the number but St Bernard Hwy in the Violet area has a cool stretch with huge oaks on each side. Forms like a tunnel.
