If what you are is “liberated” I sure as frick don’t want that. An underachieving, self righteous douchebag who seems to always find himself defending leftist on a message board seems far from where I’d like to be in life.

Your extreme lack of humility obviously stems from being much less successful on a personal, professional, and spiritual level than so many of those you look down on. I feel sorry for how miserable you are.

You mean from the TCJA? Maybe he got some nice tax treatment from signing that law? I guess that could be nefarious. Seems like quite a stretch.
Again, I am not suggesting that he either did or did not profit through his organization.

I am simply pointing out that we have been discussing his personal returns, and do not know the answer to that question based upon that discussion.

Personally, I doubt that he did so to any great extent. I don’t see that as being his goal in seeking the presidency. We simply do not have any evidence in this thread, one way or the other.

“OMG, Hank is attacking the Trump Organization.” It is laughable.

Not attacking. There is nothing to attack. It does appear as though you are searching for something, anything you can criticize trump for here.

If you were objective about this you would be saying “wow. Trump’s taxes are pretty dang clean. CNN looks silly”.

Hasn't it already been reported that his net worth went down while in office?

Yes. The only elected official in 30 years whose net worth decreased while in office.

Cnn and the dems know the general public (this thread is exhibit a) knows nothing about how taxes work at Trumps level - Trump isn’t sitting at his Mac on turbo tax. He has the best accountants in the biz doing these. I run a biz and my tax guy’s number 1 Job is to help me pay as little tax as possible.

shite, they want to tax you on that bedroom set you sold for 700 bucks on facebook marketplace!

I have told my adult kids to noftify their friends to NOT expect to file their taxes quickly this year. Them and their freinds use these aps to reimburse each other all the time...for picking up beer or a VRB rental. They are all going to have to somehow explain how these payments were not income.

I was a bit surprised that the answer was not a clear "yes" or a clear "no." A solid "it depends."

As a part-time tax guy, I would say it is clearly not deductible as a charitable contribution. First, the IRS is not a 501c3. A payment to them could be deductible as a business expense only if he can claim that he is an independent contractor. I am certain that the president falls under the definition of an employee and not a contract employee. That said, they do establish their own hours and work schedule and how they do their work; however, they do not supply their own tools.

In my opinion, the only way he could avoid paying taxes on the salary he did not accept is to have HR change him to zero pay, showing nothing on a W2. Then again, would that then place the Executive Branch in violation of the minimum wage law.

The whole thing is a lie. Trump was a government official, Federal taxes were taken out before he got the money to donate to charity. No Federal taxes? C’mon….

If you read it right, you would understand CNN sucks. Sorry it's hard to comprehend. Maybe one day you will realize they report stories not news.
