See, this is the problem. We have a huge contingent on the Right that does not understand the economic significance of the immigrants. They are a gigantic, and important, part of our economy, which would tank if we sent them back.

A large part of the reason for our current inflation is the lack of immigrants, many of whom went home during the pandemic. This created shortages on the supply side, resulting in higher prices, as predicted by the Supply/Demand curves we were shown in Econ101.

Notice that no matter whether Republicans or Democrats are in power, nothing really gets done about immigration. That is not because we have a uniparty; it is because everyone with a brain, who understands the supply and demand curve, knows that a country with a below replacement birth rate needs massive immigration to sustain economic prosperity.
