But seriously, when you sign on the line that is dotted, they knew what they were getting in to...you would expect that due diligence from a service academy player. Roger Staubach couldn't enter the NFL until he was 27 years old.

What happens if a service academy player or student transfers? Is it not an obligation until you graduate?

Give him the waiver. He's getting an education, that's good for the nation. Our personnel system is garbage, losing one academy graduate won't make it crash. It's already a trash heap.
Probably did not foresee himself turning into an NFL-ready player when he went to the academy. Just write it off and cut him loose to enjoy the NFL.

No it is not. He made a commitment and should be required to stick by it. He could have gotten out after 2 years like any other cadet. This is another example of one of many things wrong in the country. No commitment to you obligations.

didn't this happen to david robinson when he was in the naval academy? I could swear he went into active service prior to going to the Spurs.
