What's the point of these games anymore?
Just cancel them.
Just cancel them.

We've not played great against backups lately.

Bowl games are so meaningless nowadays it's sad.

First reply I saw "they added a 9th round?"

yet somehow it will be a close game.

We got no shot. No film. No history.

A bad bowl game gets worse. Yay.

10 wins would be a lot nicer than a 3 game losing streak

What a little bitch. He gets a chance to lead Purdue to a major bowl win over the SEC runner up and bails? Sad lack of chest.

This is why I NEVER judge coaches on their (non-playoff) bowl records. Nor do I put much stock in a win or loss in those game. The atmosphere surround bowl games vs. regular season games are completely different. Often times in bowl games at least one team, sometimes both, have very little desire to be in the game. And given that there is no great "reward" for winning the game there are always questions of motivation. Many swore Alabama's blowout loss to Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl following the 2013 meant the decline of the Alabama "dynasty". No, it just meant that Alabama didn't particularly give a shite about playing in that game given they had won the NC the last two seasons. End of the dynasty? Not hardly. They reached the playoffs 5 straight years following that loss (the NC game 4 of those 5 years).
Now, with the freedom of transfer rules and star players opting out not being uncommon or viewed as faux pas, the games have become even more meaningless.
I will enjoy watching the Citrus Bowl because it is the last time I will get to watch LSU play for 8 months. But I won't be overly excited with a win, nor overly disappointed with a loss. These games mean much, MUCH, more to the fans than they do to the players and coaches.

I mean the guy isn’t going to be a 1st round pick (or a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th tbh). He likely thinks the lsu game isn’t going to be very good film for him. You can reference his stats against any halfway decent Big10 team like wisconsin, Iowa, not to mention Michigan. Seems to hover around a 50% completion percentage and is on the wrong end of the TD/INT ratio in such games. Actually, taking a quick look at his performance, his only real shot at being a relevant pick would be to ball out against LSU. Oh well. Sooner or later these guys who aren’t sure things in the draft may realize that pretending to be a big-shot out in California and giving some “guru” thousands of dollars to run drills might be less valuable than just playing in the bowl game.

Just let Nuss start. If LSU wins, he gets the starting job.

How long before the bowl sponsors start pulling their money because of the dropouts?

Bad news for us. Everybody’s back up plays like the second coming of Tom Brady against us.
