Actually yes she did because that is the law in Russia. Now you can argue that the law is extreme or even wrong and I would tend to agree with you. But according to the law in Russia she got a normal sentence. She wasn’t a political prisoner at all like some are saying. She is actually pretty fricking stupid because she has been going there for years to play ball, she knew what the laws were there and still broke them.

IF they had demanded the relieasr of the other, patriotic and valuable, you MIGHT have a legitimate point.
Without that this is not only bad policy it is a politically driven decision to placate an abnormal base.
