A lot of you seem perfectly fine with a Les Miles style offensive philosophy where we’re scared to move the ball through the air. If you’d rather watch JD not throw to open WR’s when they’re more than 10 yards downfield then punt instead of watch Nuss sling the ball around and have a much better chance to score but maybe throw an INT that’s fine but you’re never going to win an SEC title or natty with that. I’d much rather watch a guy with elite arm talent sling it downfield

To be fair JD's INT was a pass thrown too high over the middle that has a higher likelihood of being a tip pick or getting the WR killed.

To the transfer portal....so Howard can watch from a better seat. When the qb has more rushing yards than your leading receiver, and boutte has 530 something yards in a 12 game season, we must be running the veer or counter option with David Woodley. #5 is the Best qb he's coached in 30 years....

And you can be coached to be more conservative. You obviously cant coach some QBs into being more risk taking.

Look, I am not sold on Nuss and I appreciate Daniels, but at some point you must ask yourself why we have NOT thrown downfield. You know how hard that is on receivers to work in a 20 yard box that Daniels uses?

Note to Chicken, maybe you should lock one thread at the top, have all of LSU’s QB debate there.

Meh...I think Kirby is a pretty good coach but he thought Jake Fromm was better than Justin Fields.

Everyone saw that even in limited playing time, there was absolutely no way Fromm was better. Fans were right, Kirby was wrong.

Its CBK's decision on which QB he wants to gameplan around but that doesn't mean JD5 is better. However, he's definitely more experienced. Nuss made throws JD5 hasn't made once this season. Also, the WR's looked better and was happier. Nabers comments were an indictment of JD5, while still being a compliment to Nuss.

JD5 is an above average QB but his lack of fast decision making, lack of deep throws, and inability to see open WR's severely limits LSU's ability to generate explosive plays. Explosive plays are what keeps less talented teams in games when they're outmatched. It also keeps you in games and allows for comebacks when being down by large deficits.

The game has evolved since then, but Miles still has 3 or 4 of the best scoring offenses all time at LSU and won 77% of games there.

You are trying too hard. Coaches see everything better than fans.

You people are fricking retarded if you think coaches always play the best player. We’ve seen backup QBs come in and be better than the starter after an injury or the backup transfers time and time again.

Daniel's would not have thrown the TD to Jenkins, once JD5 spun away it would have been a run for about 5 yards

Why isn't he throwing 30 yard passes during normal games when called for? Did it against best defense in the NCAA.

Of course he’s being praised. Nuss lit up those leg humpers like no other QB this year! Damn fine job he did. Hope we keep him.

You think burrow was doing this as a freshman? Jesus. His dad is an NFL QB coach.
As for the guy bashing him for turnovers...speaking of turnovers let's talk about the fumble for a TD that JD had at a&m that changed the momentum of the game? How about that god awful turnover. Nuss was sent in to try and get us back in the game. His arm is phenomenal and he damn near did it. That can be. Coached. What can't be coached is the inability to throw an accurate downfield pass. JD has relied on his legs since he started playing football, and never truly learned to be a QB. All he has is running. That's not a QB.

He is an above average runner playing the QB position. That's the only part of QB that he is above average. He is a below average passer, and can't read a defense or see open recs. Any successful throw downfield has primarily been on busted coverage.
