re: When do all the transfer portal players hit on Monday

There will certainly be a lot that officially enter on Monday, but a good amount of those were already guys that had announced intentions to transfer. Where the flood will happen is when teams finish their bowl games and the coaches begin focusing on roster attrition and reaching out.

Where many coaches have alluded to it being the wild wild west. Is that you have guys that have no intention of entering the portal being contacted via third parties gauging there interest.

Just my opinion it seems like the coaching carousel in a sense that you have big name mainly QBs, WRs, RBs, and OL that a lot of schools would want. Then you will have the ripple effect from that, which will really cause the "flood" you mention. The truly sad part to all of this is that there will be hundreds of kids that do not know any better, enter the portal and have no landing spot in the FBS and either have to drop down to the FCS, or may be done with their football careers. It will be great life lesson for many but still sad none the less. Right now you have coaches and or connected program guys reaching out to players HS coaches or handlers/parents gauging interest throwing out NIL numbers just like in HS recruiting.
