WHAT IF........We beat Florida State and Bobby Bowden takes the LSU job.

I'm not giving the year or the score, but if you're an Old School Historical Fan of the program and have been to a lot of games in Tiger Stadium, (Like myself) you know the game I'm referring to. (BB came out and said so after the game)..........

He probably gets smashed by one of the three LSU defenders heading towards him at the 4 yard line.

What if Will Wade didn't answer the phone?

What if Pokey liked sausage instead of clam?

What if the Duke Lacrosse scandal never happens and they kept Joe Alleva?

If we had had some BLOCKING on that play, maybe he could have made it. But even had he not fumbled, it was 3rd down. We would have had to punt; and hoped we could have backed them down deep, then go from there.

What if Notre Dame stays not going bowling in 69 and LSU played Texas in the Cotton Bowl.

Bowden / Spurrier "what if" is a big one.

Collins doesn't break leg and stays out of peoples apartments.

2. OK St. doesn't lose / Bama doesn't get mulligan

This one is the impetus. Bama had 1 title at that point, and LSU beat them in their place. It had set LSU up for a potential dominant run of its own, and then Bama undeservedly got into the game instead of OSU.

That was the start of the end of Les Miles' era. Had LSU just struggled a little rather than getting blown out, how different things would have been the past decade.

If the refs don't screw LSU at Auburn in 2006 LSU wins the national championship.

What if Hester's elbow stayed up for 3 more inches in 2006 UF game and/or Russell doesn't fumble on the subsequent QB sneak thus putting LSU up 14-7 in that game.

2006 and 2011 are the complete What Ifs.

The saddest thing with 2005, is even if LSU won the SEC championship and the UT choke game at the start of the season, they are left out of the BCS title game, so not much changes there.

Then it just delays the inevitable. He was going to jump to the NFL. His ego wouldn't allow him to stay away from that chance.

Bigger thing is What If Saban stays in Miami in 2007?

These two are the biggest. If RP behaves and plays well, we never get the 2008 Jarett Lee pick 6 nightmare. The defense sucked in 2008 so ultimately we weren’t winning the NC, but without the crazy pick 6s, Miles might never have never retreated to his puckered a-hole offense that plagued us after 2008. Plus Lee would’ve gotten another year to develop.

1. Byrd tips the pass. Incomplete. Clocks runs out. 2007 Auburn.

Miles likely gets fired after the 2008 season

3. Burrow stays at OSU

Orgreon is fired after 2019 when it becomes clear he won't be able to achieve any greater success than Miles did

4. Joe Brady gets promotion for Saints

LSU likely goes somewhere between 8-4 and 10-2. Joe Burrow gets taken somewhere between the 3rd and 6th round of the draft and is likely still a backup in the NFL somewhere.

My big recent "what if" is what if Les actually trusted his red hot QB at the end of the Alabama game to get ONE more first down to ice the game. If LSU wins that one they likely go on to play ND the BCSNG game and get the championship they should have gotten in 2011. Of course, that means Les gets much more "rope" and isn't fired in 2016.

I remember the refs called back an early LSU TD due to a phantom holding penalty. Then Russell fumbles and kills the drive. That was such a weird game. Didn’t we have like 5 turnovers? Aside from that phantom holding flag, we kept shooting ourselves in the foot. I was always angrier about the Auburn loss bc the refs completely dominated that game. That game was fixed. No doubt.

Truth. It was going to be UT-USC no matter what. And rightly so.

Yep, it really stung to never get revenge for the 2011 mulligan. Then it happened again in 2014.

God I fricking hate Bama. This is why I never pull for Bama no matter what.

What is LSU had a better BBall Coach in 89-90 seasons to go along with Chris Jackson, Shaq, Stanley, Maurice, and the rest of the guys...??

I guess the flip side is LSU NEVER gets those guys to begin with unless Brown is the HC

What if Cameron Gamble hadn't kicked the ball out of bound, giving Bama the ball at the 40, right before the Yeldon Screen Pass. Nobody ever brings that up.

Probably because 70% of his kickoffs went out of bounds throughout his career here.

So it was just an accepted inevitably.

Much like this years back half of the season when we stopped fielding punts.

Ken Addy fumble against alabama in 73.
Mike Miley leaving for baseball in 74.
My first LSU football game was listening to the radio beside my grandfathers drydocked boat on the amite river. A hurricane almost sunk it.
That is how old i am.

What if LSU fires Les after the 2015 game like they were supposed to and hired Jimbo. Things would have gone never differently
