CARDINALSRumors Rise of Sean Payton to the Cardinals

It has been a season of disappointments for the Arizona Cardinals, and many point the finger at HC Kliff Kingsbury to place the blame. Sean Payton
In Kingsbury’s NFL coaching career, he has a 28-31-1 record. And through these four seasons, only one finished with more wins than losses.
Additionally, Kingsbury went 35-40 as a head coach at Texas Tech. This is while he had now NFL star Patrick Mahomes at quarterback. Kliff was then fired in 2018 after coaching six seasons.
After a complete collapse to the 2021 season with the Cardinals, Kingsbury received a five-year extension, which would keep him in Arizona through 2027. This did not sit well with fans considering Kingsbury has proven nothing in his NFL coaching days.
And now, Kliff has found himself in the hot seat as the Cardinals have started the year 4-7.
NFL Insider Jeremy Fowler has disclosed that Payton is looking for openings with either the Arizona Cardinals or the Los Angeles Chargers.
From 2006 to 2021, Payton had a 152-89 record as a head coach, and took home one Super Bowl trophy.
If this season does not turn around for the Cardinals, looking in the direction of Sean Payton would be a smart move.
Not to mention, fans may not be able to handle another season with Kliff Kingsbury wearing the headset.

Not sure how credible

Hopefully he goes to the Chargers but if he has to stay in the NFC I would prefer to see him in Arizona rather than Dallas

I hope the Cardinals acceptance speech includes a reference to Bobby McCray decleating Kurt Warner

i'm not scared of Sean and hope he goes to whoever has the highest draft pick

If there is even the remotest chance that CSP is willing to coach the Chargers or the Cardinals AND both those teams have serious interest in naming CSP as HC then it’s great for the Saints. And CSP really. The worst scenario is only one team has interest or he is only will to coach one team.

I would guess he is using the Cardinals as leverage. Who wants to coach Kyler Murray?

Would take their first & 2nd for SP; then hire Kliff to replace Carmichael

Loomis, we don’t want Kyler in this deal…

this sounds like BS because i dont see payton wanting any part of a team without a pocket passing QB
murray is a running back that just throws a few passes sometimes. that is 180 degrees off from what payton wants and the system he runs

will levis is a take if we get the cardinals 1st rounder.

I don't care where he goes I'd love as high a draft pick as possible tho

Jobs are few and far between to be telling a coach what they want or can't do
He wants to coach. If SD don't want him where is he going?

granted, but he doesnt "need" a job, he makes as much broadcasting as he would as a HC, he just "wants" to coach again.
if just the right situation isnt there for him, its not like he will need to settle, he will just stay in the booth another year and his value as HC will only increase
