Was going to be my first suggestion. If you are not there regularly, I would unplug anything I can. Hell, I'd even consider flipping breakers with as many issues as you are having.

A potential cause you could be experiencing is random surges from your power supply (Cleco). Had a place several years ago that this would happen to, I would be home then there would be a sudden buzzing noise, and my lights would get brighter, then it would be back to normal. Chased it for months because it was so sporadic that my electrician & Entergy could not replicate it to figure out the issue. After an electrical fire at a neighbor connected to the same transformer, Entergy replaced something in my breaker box and the problem stopped.
