quote:
I freely admit I don’t understand crypto and have avoided it. Instead I will stick to things I understand like low cost index funds and my own unfulfilled potential.
Are you me? I don’t… get it… As an investment or a currency or a particularly unique technology.
Warren buffet and Charlie munger may be 200 years old but I find myself much more aligned with their views on crypto than anyone, even more so with Munger who isn’t shy about shitting all over it, whereas buffet acknowledges the “technology” of blockchain.
It's a very effective way of transmitting money and you can do it anonymously and all that. A check is a way of transmitting money too. Are checks worth a whole lot of money just because they can transmit money? I hope bitcoin becomes a better way of doing it but you can replicate it a bunch of different ways. The idea that it has some huge intrinsic value is just a joke in my view." - Buffet
"It's partly fraud and partly delusion — that's a bad combination," Munger said about the crypto industry. "People think this is a real asset, it's not a real asset,"
"There are people who think that you've got to be on every deal that's hot."
Munger added that it's "crazy" and "demented" to think someone can mint a new token that can turn a 12-year-old into a billion are overnight.”
"The danger flags are wagging so clearly," he said. "None of this stuff should ever have been allowed."
Always fun to remind yourself the flagship of crypto, bitcoin, was created by a ghost?
-Satoshi Nakamoto is a pseudonym for the person or people who helped develop the first bitcoin software and introduced the concept of cryptocurrency to the world in a 2008 paper. Nakamoto remained active in the creation of bitcoin and the blockchain until about 2010 but has not been heard from since.
Like, wut the frick? All that said, there’s certainly money to be made trading/gambling, large scale adoption world altering you’ll be first adopter super genius seems insanely unlikely to me.
