Right. Young teams get better as a season progresses. We have Zion, Jose, Herb, Trey, Naji, and Dyson all on an upward trajectory.

We'll be a much better team by the end of the season than we are now.

Perhaps something changes but so far, there is no indication that the Pelicans can rely on him playing a majority of the season.

He's on pace to play 64 games.

On pace to miss 1 of 5 games.
And that number will get worse as the season progresses too.

IMO, that's not a good thing. I want Zion healthy at the end of the season as much as anybody. I freaking love this team and Zion so I want whats best for them. He'll now have played 11 of 15 games, that's not a good projection for a guy that has the talent to be a top 3 player in the league and a guy you need leading your team. He'll never reach that peak if 60-64 games is a good outlook. LeBron (Zion is not LBJ I know) played over 75 games like 12 or 13 times over his first 15 seasons. Hell he played 82 games at age 33. It's ok for star players to play with bumps and bruises. I think it's fair to say that Zion has missed enough time in his career that he doesn't need to be babied.

I'm not mad he's sitting, just disappointed because honestly, regardless of the injury report, I think he could play. Just like Ingram could have played vs the Lakers. And it's not Zion I'm disappointed in, I know he wants to play, but it's not up to him.

Or better but if 3 + years of history means anything, the Pelicans will be lucky if he plays 50 games this season.

If you want him healthy at the end of the season, then his missed games so far are largely irrelevant to whether he'll be healthy at the end of the season.

None of his injuries are showing to be something that'll linger, so it's not much to be concerned about.

The 2 years he missed most games, he was injured before the season started.

The 1 season he started healthy, he played 61 of 72 games.

I totally 100% agree.
It's a minor injury (Foot Contusion) not a Broken Foot, ACL, MCL, etc. Zion should be playing!

That was really in regards to the "we dont need to wear him out now/rest him and have him ready for later in the year/i'd rather him sit now if it means he's healthy later on" comments that are always made. I got laughed at before he was ruled out last night because I said I can easily see our training staff sitting him a week. That looks like what is going to happen.

I just don't want the training staff costing us wins. Last night was amazing, it was the best game of the year. But our odds of winning are lower when our stars sit obviously, and I want as many wins as possible. Resting guys that are capable of playing will cost us games (already has) and by the end of the year be the difference in seeding.

This isn't me melting. I'm not trying to have a 70's and 80's play his arse with a torn acl and broken wrist mentality. But I wouldnt mind going away from a ok this guy is ready to play, but lets hold him out a few more games just to be sure mentality.

does Zion’s vagina still hurt? Thought it would have healed for tonight.

This isn’t all on Zion, management is way too cautious with him.

…..but it is refreshing to see the offense and defense the last two games.
