I agree I miss Hawthorn, I don’t like when Blair says “hey now”
But you probably loved “Holy Cow!!”

Hawthorne fan boys are very much like the O groupies in that they still struggle to accept we’ve moved on and have someone much better now.

I like Blair but his call of last play was bad. He was still talking about Bama player running off field instead of the play itself. All he really said was “caught in corner of endzone” and “hey now”

Jim was legendary and I miss him every time I hear generic Blair.

Rollins should have been the next Voice.

Hawthorne meh a hack at best if you want a legend to call it imagine John Ferguson that would have been a call!

Being old enough to have listened to both, Hawthorne was far and away much better than Ferguson.

John Ferguson was the best.

When did this become his thing? Don’t care for it. Was he a big fan of The Larry Sanders Show? That was Hank’s catchphrase.

Blair has one, maybe two catch orgasms. Rollins is a catch phrase.

No thank you.

“Hey Now” is forced as hell and is stupid. He needs to cut that shite out immediately. Multiple calls from last weekend, well after the excitement of the play, he realized he forgot to say his stupid catch phrase and squeaked out an awkward “hey now”.

“Rolls right and throws!!! It’s short. He got stopped short of the goal line. Wait. No. He’s in. They say he’s in. Touchdown Jack Bech!!!”

You Hawthorn fanboys are terrible. Jim was unlistenable towards the end. He was a bad play-by-play guy who made up for it with homer enthusiasm. Once he soured on Miles, the broadcasts were miserable.

I like Blair a lot EXCEPT when he says touchdown Fighting Tigers. Idk why it annoys me.

I don’t care for his “Hey now!” I know he wants some kind of catch phrase that will be synonymous with him but I’d like something better.

Jim Hawthorn was great, but for us oldtimers it's Sid Crocker FTW!

He said bama can’t get their guys off the field. Then after they got off he said “here we go, snap to daniels, sprint out, throws, CAUGHT RIGHT CORNER OF THE ENDZONE. MASON TAYLOR. TIGERS WIN, TIGERS WIN”

What more do you want him to say during the play?

Blair is really good and the ultimate professional. I do hate how he tries to force some of his catch lines in though. I feel like you have to be one or the other.

It’s nearly impossible to be this wrong about something that can be verified easily, but you’ve managed to do it.

Congratulations

While we’re in the Way Back Machine, I wish it was Chollie Mac sticking to da Bear.
