Bama has been a terrible road team over the last two years compared to their usual performance. They lost two games (one to a crappy aTm team who O beat in his last game and 1 against a great Tenn. team this year).
They also won three other road games by a combined total of 5 points. They barely escaped against a bad UF team, needed 4 OTs to beat a crappy Auburn team and won by 1 point against just a decent Texas team this year. Usually, I would say last year has nothing to do with this year, but there seems to be a strong pattern with many of the same players back this year. They just haven't been as mentally tough overall on the road as Bama teams of the past.
Add in LSU having an elite running QB who is hitting on all cylinders, better WRs (in my opinion), and a D that is way more difficult now with Perkins playing more and you have a team that has a fair chance to knock off Bama.
