Oh, I understand it completely, especially in the terms of how CFB, as a sport, defines a blue blood.
A Blue Blood would NEVER have been required to beat a team AGAIN that they already beat ON THE ROAD at that point in time/history. ESPN/Media even dropped the "Every Game Counts" motto they were pumping for years after the real Blue Blood lost the "Game of the Century".
So, yes, my understanding of how CFB works is dead on.
Should LSU be considered a blue blood? YES.
Does the CFB Media (the entity that really runs the sport) consider LSU a blue blood? NO
LSU will always be one of those teams that will have to win their division, conference, AND have a similar record as the top teams in contention to be considered for a title. The Blue Bloods can lose important games, not win their conference, not win their division, and still get in the title games or playoffs.
