Curious what order you are insinuating haha Surely not dogging a top three pick
I’m certainly not dogging Stingley, who I think was one of the top 5 corners LSU has produced in the last 20 years. However, I posted before he was drafted that anything above the #10 pick was valuing him too highly. Tre White and Patrick Peterson were both better than Stingley, and White was not nearly as good as Peterson, who is in a class by himself among LSU corners.
In the years since Peterson was drafted, corners have become more valued by the NFL, and they are spending higher picks on them.
Stingley left LSU with significant technique deficiencies, which I pointed out throughout the 2019 season. He was a great college corner, and I’m sure he’ll be a great pro. But unlike Peterson, who thoroughly dominated everyone he covered in college, Stingley was schooled by the best receivers he faced, and I don’t think he faced anyone as good as Peterson faced.

Stingley had great technique. He had issues with tackling and avoiding contact, but his technique on outside coverage was as good as I’ve seen.
