the sentence could have been up to 2 years.
they went easy on him. the article attempts to convince us he got so much! 6 months! because of someone's pissy mood. nope. they recommended a much lighter sentence than the max 2 years for the crime.

The DOJ can only make a request. The judges does the sentencing. I believe the maximum sentence for disobeying a congressional subpoena is one month. IDK how the judge can legally add more time.
