Wasn't that in one of the first scenes of season 2? I noticed that too and cut it off when I heard that because I knew the rest was going to be garbage.

Clancy wasn't a great storyteller. What he was renowned for was running a simulation that was ultra-realistic, using stuff we were either known to have, or were suspected (or had the capacity) to have.

Example- Clear and Present Danger, book. It wasn't pro- or anti- anything, it just played out the scenario. The US got tired of the cartels, so they did stuff like high altitude laser-guided bombs with a cellulose case instead of metal, onto cars. Airplane is too high to see, laser is invisible to the naked eye, the bomb leaves no trace of forensic evidence. Literally zero clues to suggest what happened, so the cartels assume it was a rival faction car-bombing their people.
It was so high-tech that no civilian, and hardly any government, could perceive what actually happened.

That sort of thing didn't happen in the show, instead it was made to be propaganda for the left and media. We had the terrible fascist leader, the shining beacon of CNN highlighting the terrible fascist's wrongs and pushing the world to oppose him, and the heroic Leftist resistance leader winning the election.

I mean... pure fantasy, and bad fantasy at that. When was the last time a dictator even cared what the election revealed? His gunmen would be the ones that count the ballots, and declare him the victor. And they'd flip the bird at CNN reporters trying to 'cover' or influence anything.
