Just drove down Estero Blvd. The damage is unreal. I understand that these are OT ballers' second homes on the beach, but seeing toppled over collector cars and wrecked homes is unreal.

Dang how hard is it to raise your phone and send us some pics? Why would anyone rebuild ? I think if people rebuild then they should pay huge Hurricane Insurance fees. There was a reason that was a barrior island.

I’m not sure I understand what is going on here. I’ve seen several (not certain how many) immediate aftermaths of hurricanes and I’m always moved by the vastness and level of devastation. Andrew, Rita, Ike, Harvey, Laura everyone moved me.

Seems like something that could have easily been saved.

It’s why I moved to Dallas. I was tired of getting blasted by hurricanes. I don’t have to worry about that anymore.

I am so happy I am not a field adjuster anymore, I saw enough shite after Katrina and Sandy to last a lifetime. Now I just look at the photos of the claims coming in from Florida

Went down to Pine Island in the summer of '71 to help build a home. Sanibel was just a resource for egg water at the time. Couldn't even see the lighthouse.
I'd go back if it wasn't so built up.
Best wishes.
