re: Is the whole “veterans need special treatment” overblown?

I come from a military family and am a combat vet myself as is my brother and parents. I joined because I fricked off in college and had no other choices. If it weren't for my vet disability plates, you wouldn’t know that I served. I dislike being thanked for my service because despite being deployed, I mostly drank and banged whores. I don’t need recognition at a ball game or a discount at a business.
