Boutte has been checked out for over a year now. I think Kelly gave him permission to miss tomorrow to avoid having his poison on the field. I think he gave him #7 to motivate him but that was a mistake but worth a try. He’s so talented but so immature but most of us were at that age. Hope he matures and figures it out but don’t look for him to be much of a factor for LSU if at all. I hope I’m dead wrong.
What a pathetically horrible take. Sone of our fans need to get damn grip. Life is so much bigger than football. The birth of your child is an important event. Spending time with your girlfriend/wife post-birth is just as important as the event itself. CBK gave him the game off, which is a very respectful thing to do.

I'm honestly tired of the Boutte discussion. I've come to the conclusion that I don't know shite about the guy. Maybe he's checked out. Maybe he's not. I have no earthly idea.
Maybe he's Brandon Ingram and just always looks disengaged. Maybe he's rusty from not playing football for nearly an entire calendar year. Again, I have no earthly idea and I'm tired of trying to play detective, and seeing others do the same, or just expect/assume the worst.
I wish Boutte nothing but the best, for his family and his football career.

This right here is the right take. Thank you for bringing some sanity to this board.
Everyone wants to talk about BK changing the culture. Well how do you build a culture in a program where you don't put an emphasis on people, their lives outside of football and understand them on a personal level?
The level of emotional intelligence BK is showing for his players and the example he's setting / showing the world is endearing and, while not the reason he's doing it, will pay dividends when players, coaches and parents see this.

The point wasn’t football is as or more important as family (that’s not even a comparison) it’s Boutte was all but gone before “G” saved the day and then he literally quit in the FSU game and even the guys in the booth observed he didn’t finish his routes and in all my years of being a fan have Ive never heard of a player missing a game due to a baby being born days earlier unless there were health concerns for the baby or Mom.
