Maye is a bruising tackler with good cover skills. Mathieu is a great cover guy with instincts. They compliment each other very well. Williams could neither punish (he did tackle just didn’t punish) nor cover well. He played centerfield and when he read the play right was as good as anyone securing a pick but in my opinion was a step slow way too much. Saints pass defense in two games has allowed 403 yards total without Adebo, we good.

Williams had an INT gift wrapped for him in the 4th quarter that could have sealed the game.

If we have Marcus Williams yesterday that long TD to Perriman doesn't happen.

I'm not saying MW would have picked it, but he would have read the play and used his athleticism to get to the catch point to disrupt the pass.

That's the difference in MW and Maye. Maye was 10 yards away b/c he initially bit on the wrong side and didn't have the athleticism to recover and cover the ground
