Do you really think that compressing the field and throwing nothing but short routes is the answer to that? How about we get Daniels to do more of what he did throwing it up to Nabers last night. Find a one on one and let your guy make a play. Our WRs are good enough to beat coverage and get chunks of yards. The threat of hitting a few intermediate and deep shots would open up so much for this offense.

You’re right over the target but if you make teams respect him with a designed running attack using the WRs, the backs and the short passes you’ll bring extra defenders up and get those 1 on 1s giving you a chance to throw those passes to areas he’s more comfortable with instead of having safeties back there funneling those passes to places he isn’t effective.
