I’m taking my son to the Miss St game but I’m dreading the post game traffic

Is it better if I park at L'Auberge casino and take the shuttle?

Honestly park at like Ivars or under the overpass and walk/ride a bike.

You can prolly catch a blowie in the parking lot too.

It just is what it is. Tailgate after to let it die down. Bring his toothbrush so he can crash in the car.

Dude

There are COUNTLESS tigers who wish they could spend these moments with their son/father

Even if you’re stuck in traffic, look at the bigger picture

I can remember sitting in traffic with my dad and uncle after games and just chatting about everything we saw/heard that day. I remember the car rides home (until I fell asleep on the spillway) just as vividly as I can remember the games

Enjoy it while you can

The shuttle doesn’t have a police escort to L’auberge so if traffic is dead stop on River Rd going south, the bus is going to be sitting in the same traffic.

Idk how it is now I haven’t been since before Covid but I used to park by the levee parking lot by the baseball field. I’de take River road after the game and it wasn’t ever that terrible, maybe things have changed

People make way too big of a deal out of the post game traffic for the most part. Yes it does suck and I’ve had a couple really bad experiences over the years.

Just got to relax put it on 98.1 and listen to the postgame show. Talk about the game and enjoy the extra time with family and friends.

You know where you need to get after the game. Find a contraflow map and park accordingly. Even if that means you have to walk for 25 minutes instead of 15 minutes to get to where you parked.

There is lots of people leaving an area at once, so there is going to be traffic. It doesn't have to be as bad as people on here make it seem if you aren't a moron about it.

Dodger fans would kill us all to have our traffic leaving the stadium and campus.

Personally I think it’s best to park way TF away near river road and just walk a mile-1.5. So much easier if you can handle the walk and don’t have old ppl/lil kids with you.

It totally depends on where you are planning to park and the direction you have to go after the game. I have to go west on I10 after the game, but the contra flow won’t let me. I just break out the grill and cook something while waiting for the contra flow to end….that typically happens approximately an hour after the game ends.

It’s an event with 150+ thousand people all leaving at the same time with very limited ways in and out. I don’t get why people think that traffic is just supposed to be fine.

If you are going to an LSU game you simply have to accept that depending on when you arrive and leave its likely to be a bit of a hassle and there will be traffic. Like a poster above mentioned, enjoy the extra time with your son. My kids (now 29 and 27) and I still laugh about some of the thing we'd hear (when they used to take callers) on the postgame show on 98.1. And happy to report my first grandchild (10 months) made his debut at our tailgate this past weekend. Not quite ready for a game.

Just go and don't be in a rush to leave the area.

IF you do, park North of Assembly Center and take Nicholson out of LSU.

Get on River Rd and Stay to the left post game, we went last night, if you stay to the left it moves pretty fast
