Vatican bank
Why does a church need its own bank?
Does it pay interest and/or lend money?
Funny some of the mega churches in the US didn’t jump on this bandwagon to establish a bank or credit union. They could help their congregations with low interest loans and mortgages. And take the guilt out of the Bible verse “the borrower is slave to the lender.”
On the flip side, the church also could spy on the congregation and setup rules to deny certain charges as unChristian such purchasing pornography or ATM transactions at a casino. Above all, the church can ensure it’s getting your tithes, 10% of your income.

There is an ongoing trial of Cardinal Becciu for embezzling money.
If the pope calls the Vatican bank, I imagine he can see what records he wants.
If he calls Credit Suisse I imagine he is told to go frick himself. Seems prudent to me in light of the fact that some of the Church’s money was stolen. But I could be wrong.

That’s $385,701.49 per client. That is just the funds currently in the bank. So much for that vow of poverty.

So if this is some ominous sign, where do you suggest those of us with a smaller balance than the Vatican move our funds to?

Name the organization that does more charitable work, supporting hospitals, schools, and basic human services than the Catholic Church. I’ll hang up and listen.

One of Papa Frank's main goals has been to attempt to reform the bloated, corrupt Vatical bureaucracy.
The corruption and lack of control in the Vatican far, far outweighs the shenanigans in US government.
This is one of many attempts to get a handle on it.
