The real irony is that it will take them probably 10 gallons of gas to get less than 100 miles of charge with a standard 110v plug. Think charge rate is around 5 miles per hour that way.

That generator probably has a 240V/30A plug so it will charge at a Level 2 rate. Still not great or cost efficient but it's what that guy deserves for living in CA...
