I think this is a winner. I think I will plan to run a wire from my router to the ceiling in my garage, exit by my opener and mount a POA on the ceiling there.
Any recommendations for POA?

I was thinking instead of worrying about power in the garage and configuring a second router in AP mode, just get a cheap plain access point from ubiquiti and power it via ethernet. They perform and look great.
