Yes, more unneeded QB banter. But I just watched some of his ASU highlights for the first time. Other than loading up a bit, he does really well with throwing the deep ball. He has a big arm and seems to do a good job of leading his receiver with accuracy. That, plus his speed and shiftiness does get me excited for him to be the starter this season. Can’t wait to see why he does with these pass catchers.

Have you seen the deep pass he threw to himself where as soon as he let go he outran the entire defense and caught it for a touchdown?
It was called back because of an illegal formation but it was still really impressive.

They are HIGHLIGHTS. They only show the good passes. Every bad QB LSU has had looks great in his highlights.

I’ve never seen quarterback highlights that don’t look great. I’ve watched 6th grade basketball highlights that you would swear they drain every 3 every time. If you watch all the shots instead of the highlights, it’s a different story.

My concern is the overthrows on short to intermediate routes that lead to interceptions...

Throwing a nice deep ball is great. But… what separates really good QB play from Average QB play is being able to read defenses effectively, and be able to throw very accurate short and intermediate passes (especially over the middle) in a place where the receiver can easily obtain YAC. Much harder than it looks.

My biggest issue with JD is his damn mom.
