Most overused expression lately-“Perfect”

Girl on phone: “and what’s your zip code?”
Me: “70503”
Girl on phone: “Perfect”
Another girl on phone: “and what card will you be paying with?”
Me: “Visa”
Another girl on phone: “Perfect”
It’s Just something that’s trending the last few years. Mostly in the service industry , customer service, or anytime someone is asking information. These girls do it constantly, it’s their reply for everything. It’s just so silly. What’s so perfect about these responses? Don’t people know what “perfect”
means? They have taken the word and obliterated the true meaning of the term. In this context it has a totally different meaning.
Anyway, now that I’ve mentioned it, you’ll start noticing it out in public. Sometimes I’ll hear it 10 times a day.

My dentist says "perfect" every single time he asks me to do something. It's annoying, but more funny than anything though.
Not to mention it always sounds so nasty.
"Open your mouth a little more..." or "Tilt your head this way a little..."
Me: *does it
"Perfect."
And in my head I'm like of course it's perfect, it was a very simple task you asked me to do.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you hear. I've been hearing this as a response for decades.

"Historic."
Overused ad nauseum, so people can feel unique.

I feel this exact same way about "optics"

Haven't noticed that. I have noticed the ending of a statement with "makes sense?" trend though.

“That’s crazy”
“No problem”

It’s positive reinforcement to generate positive feelings about your transaction.

And you’ve created the perfect thread to ensure today you will, at least in your head, hear “perfect” far more than 10 times today.
Perfect.

I don't particularly care for how much "of course" is getting thrown around now days. Young 20 some odd white chicks have really latched on to it. The appropriate response to "thank you" is "you're welcome", imho. Not "of course" like the dumb honky bitches be saying..

No worries. I can't stop saying it and I must hear it 5 times a day from other people.
I need to come up with a replacement response.

Yeah kinda feels snooty or not down to earth to hear sometimes but I've been hearing that response for like 20 years so it's not recent by any stretch.
