Cruising out of Long Beach next month, need help picking a Marriott property to stay at, so many to choose from. We will be arriving 2 full days before sailing and want to see some sights and partake in local food and beverage while we are there. We have many Bonvoy night awards so we are trying to use some of those up.

Any LA locals on here to help out?

Just cruised out of there in April.

As long as you’re in walking distance to the Pike and the harbor, you’ll be in good shape. There’s a Renaissance, Westin, and Courtyard all close to Ocean Blvd. I’d suggest staying there.

I think two days is too long. Everything is right there/close by. It’s expensive AF, too. You can tour the Queen Mary, go to the Aquarium, go to the beach, or wander around the area.

I didn’t find the food choices to be outstanding for the price. We paid $70 (incl tip) for both lunch and dinner at casual restaurants. $30 for bagel sandwiches for breakfast.

If you’re sailing the Panorama, the ship will more than make up for the lackluster home port; we loved it. Long Beach is beautiful, but I’m not in a hurry to go back.

Stayed at the Long Beach Renaissance a couple times for work. Definitely recommend the hotel & location.

I always stayed at the Springhill Suites in Huntington Beach just off the 405. About 20-25 minutes to Long Beach but a nice hotel.
Do yourself a huge favor. Go to Sandy’s Shack at the Huntington Beach pier. Flat out a slice of heaven.

Good recommendations already. I would stay along Ocean Blvd. Shoreline Village is a touristy area. 2nd street in Belmont Shore is nice and trendy. Pine Street or The Promenade downtown is interesting. Beachwood BBQ is good and has awesome beer selection (they regularly have Russian River beers on tap). Michael's (Italian) is right next door. 555 east is a good steakhouse. Thai District is excellent. The actual beach in Long Beach is kind of gross tbh.

I would recommend driving south on pch and checking out Huntington Beach pier and Main Street. Only around 30 minutes or so.

Eta there is no need to go into Los Angeles
