JD limits the offense too much to be the starter, the passing game is significantly curtailed by his arm talent.
Nuss is a little bit of a wild card but he opens the playbook wide open and if he's throwing to Boutte deep, that's a battle we can win consistently. It's Nuss, nothing else makes sense. Get on board, the kid is exciting to watch.

It's always been Jayden's job. Everything else is a charade imo.

Where do you people come from? So BK saying Nuss would've gotten the 1st team reps today is a charade? Are you aware they're playing a game - a real game - in just over 3 weeks?

Kelly said that Nuss would have gotten "SOME" reps with the ones.

That's not what it said.

Where I don’t agree with his analysis of JD’s not being able to throw a pass, he is inaccurate and the proof is in his game film and watching him in the spring game. He missed badly on several passes in the spring game, so badly on a sideline pass that the receiver didn’t even attempt to try to catch it since it was 6-8 feet over his head. His reading of defenses is suspect also, in the spring game, he’d look for his first option, if it wasn’t there, he’d flee the pocket instead of scanning the field and looking for his other options. That won’t cut it in the SEC.

Advocate article sheds a little more light

LINK
quote:

Without Nussmeier available for seven-on-seven or full-team periods, junior Jayden Daniels took almost every rep as the first-team quarterback. Meanwhile, sixth-year senior Myles Brennan worked with the second-team offense until the end of practice, when he received first-team reps on the last three plays of the day.

quote:

Daniels finished 14-of-19 with two scrambles during the seven-on-seven and full-team periods. One ball was dropped.

quote:

Brennan received significantly fewer reps. He went 8 of 13 passing in those periods, at one point throwing four straight incompletions with the second-team offense. Brennan also had a pass dropped. He was 2 for 3 during his brief stint with the first-team offense at the end of practice.

quote:

When asked about the heavily skewed rep distribution, Kelly noted Nussmeier would have also taken first-team reps Thursday if he had been a full participant.

Kelly then called Brennan “as effective and as smart as any quarterback,” and he complimented the progress of freshman Walker Howard.

I think they wanted clickbait and JD took “most” as in 51% rather than he took 91%.

If the advocate article is to be believed, that essentially puts a stamp on it. As of now, Daniels is #1 dependent on Nussmeier being available.

So CBK saying that Nuss would've gotten reps with the 1's over Daniels is a charade? Okay

That is not what he said liar. He said Nuss would have been in there with the 1's too.

Brennan will be the QB the sooner you come to accept it the better.

I used to think the same. It’s just denial at this point. You gotta lose the ego . I’ve been there, it’s not happening

Hell Kelly isn’t even trying to hide it. He’s said that nuss and Daniels are getting the reps with the ones mostly . Eventually it means something

I don't know how you can think that. First scrimmage of fall camp is important and they have a game in 3 weeks.

If Brennan is the guy he would have gotten more than 3 snaps with the 1's.

I don't know what happened, but unless there is a big turnaround with 3 weeks to go, Brennan is Qb2 or possibly Qb3 depending on Nuss.
