I’m really looking forward to the pitching staff next season, Yeskie is gonna have a lot to work with. Land a transfer between Burns and Holman I think we’re set.

Several A&M people seem to think Chris Cortez might follow Yeskie to LSU

As a walk-on? 7.34 ERA says no thank you

Burnt some tape on some of the incoming freshmen that no one are really talking about.

Trenton Lape & Kucherak are my favorites.

Lape is a Jake slaughter type athlete. On Twitter there is a video of him hitting a HR in a mLb park at a perfect game show case. There’s also video of him throwing 93mph on the mound. He’s athletic and still filling out. Maybe a 3B or corner OF.

Kucherak has a really advanced, quiet, swing. It reminds me a bit of Kris Bryant. I wonder if he can stick at SS. Looks like he is playing 3B on his high school team. But if Gavin Dugas can play 2B for a full season, he could too. So maybe he pushes for time there because I think his bat will play.

Weird how fans know more than championship winning coaches

Looks like he had more walks than K’s. Throwing 100 mph is cool, but being able to do that and only having 39k in 40 innings is pretty bad.

Fans can still have opinions. Isn't this only a rumor at this point? It doesn't matter if he throws 100 if he doesn't have much command. Does he have good movement on that 100mph? I'm not saying he can't improve, but at this point, it's a valid concern. ERA in the 7s is concerning. I believe Christian Little's ERA was in the 7s this season. Of course a coach could potentially help maximize a talent.

One thing I cannot stand is walks. I'd rather give up solo homers than walks. Just an opinion.

The talk up here is Lape is a stud, but he just had Tommy John a couple months ago so it will be 2024 until we see him. If he doesn’t miss the last 2 years of high school then he is probably a high draft pick.

Before TJ, what injury did he have? I see he participated in a PG event in 2022 but his 2020 showcase had his best numbers. Not sure if injuries were holding him back or what.

Both Lape and Kade Anderson were top 100 players before their injuries. Check out bottom of page 2 of this thread.

I’ve heard a few rumors on Lape being kind of a head case type guy? You know anything about that or is that just as I said, a rumor?

Talent is definitely there big time with him.

Lape didn't miss his senior year but I think he pitched very sparingly because he played hurt all year.

I watched him play against St Amant in the playoffs. He even pitched a little and grimaced a couple of times.
