Yea it's a steep price, but the company name is "American Leak Detection" not "American Leak Detection & Remediation"

From their website:
"We understand what an inconvenience this can be for you, and make every effort to ensure the job gets done quickly and correctly. If we were the ones who detected the leak, we will immediately provide an estimate on the repair service."

Sounds like the guy could have charged well beyond $500 to just put some A+B Epoxy over the source of the leak, but just told him what to do instead.

Update. ALD found 3 pinhole leaks in one spot and patched it. That seems to have solved all of the problems. At least I hope so.
