I felt like no after his two playoff losses.

But I’m second guessing now.

Is Winston better than Garopolo?

Is it a money/contract thing?

I don’t think there are outstanding QBs coming out after this season.

His average playoff stats (per game) in 6 games:

Comp: 27
ATT: 40
Comp%: 60.6
Yards: 137
TD: 1.3
INT: 2
Sacks: 2.7

SF is winning off defense and inspite of his efforts to play poorly. No thanks.

Interesting timing being that camp has started and we choose JW.

The fact that teams truly in need of a competent starter have shown him no interest, that tells me that's a no.

Trade compensation was a huge issue imo

no, not even close, but JG would only be worth giving him average pay contract if he were a FA but definitely not worth giving up anything just to get him, unless its a 7th rounder and thats not a deal that they would make to trade him

Andy Dalton is better than Garappolo.

Jimmy G is the most overrated QB in the NFL by a hell of a whole lot.

San Fran's success has nothing to do with Jimmy G. Absolutely nothing. They have an elite defense the past few years and they have good talent on offense.

So forgive me if I didn't want the Saints to trade for a well below average QB that's ALWAYS hurt. Give me mother fricking Jameis all day every day.

IMO. No. ETA. I meant to say Yes. He is better than JG.

Winston has no fear and a great deep ball. He seems to be a film nerd and a leader now. Hopefully that balances out his dumb mistakes. If so, we will be ok with our all pro defense to back him up.

If you think Davenport is unlucky/brittle then you don't want Jimmy G. anywhere near your team. Anytime he gets barely hit is a good chance for a season ending injury

Winston has way more upside. We just haven’t got a chance to see it yet.
We have seen what Jimmy G is at that level, not impressed.

Then don’t respond a-hole.

It’s a perfectly legitimate question.
