That reminds me of the days of the 1 gallon per flush toilet. Instead of using 2 gallons of water, it took three flushes or more.

It’s almost as if the private companies did research and development to determine the proper amount of water required for effectiveness. It’s not like companies design it to waste water for no reason

One of several instances where Mike Judge took the piss out of this kind of thing.

He did entire episodes of King Of The Hill about low flow toilets and the Americans with Disabilities Act and how both were counter-productive due to being overly wasteful on the former and being extremely prone to abuse on the latter.
