Besides basketball, which is FAR secondary to football, UNC doesn't bring much to the table in the SEC. Clearly geography is immaterial now with two LA schools joining a majority midwestern conference. If the SEC is going to poach more teams they don't need to be concerned if they are in the "SEC footprint".

Brand New State means media markets that haven’t been tapped before by the SEC. UNC is a national brand as well.

9th largest state population, 7th most NFL players... I'd say that UNC in the SEC could become a power.

Horrible take.

UNC might be tbe best school to add to the SEC out of non Big-10 options not called Notre Dame that are left. Brings in NC market (Charlotte and Raleigh are both exploding), great academics, great basketball, and solid all around athletic program. Plus it's a MAJOR national brand.
