re: Perdido Key bank & surf fishing

Like others have said you can get a good crash corse watching Bama beach bum, bearded Brad, and bama saltwater fishing vids. They do a ton of surf fishing and bank/jettie fishing in the area. I have caught a ton of different fish with a pomp rig using fish bites shrimp and sand flea flavor tipped with fresh dead shrimp. While that soaks I toss some spoons and jigs.

If you go beyond the surf fishing get a fishing license and also make sure you get the reef fish add on or whatever it is called. Also know the laws. The Bama green jeans will be out checking and you will get a ticket.

Bearded Brad has a vid of a guy who caught a red snapper under the pass bridge that got popped. I was there with all of them and this guy caught a legal sized red snapper but snapper season was closed that day ,(open the next day) and he didn’t have that reef fish add on. They took the fish and gave hime some ticket love. It was interesting to watch it all unfold, I was shocked with that big of a snapper right there to begin with.
