I can tell you that the Steg at UGA smashes the pmac from having been to games at both. The steg use to be the worst along with auburn and ole miss. They all upgraded.

Tiger stadium is probably ranked top 3 best stadiums on the planet.

Alex Box is top shelf.

FB operations is very good

Basketball? Well...all it takes is more money...

Thankfully the PMAC can be brought up to close to the top with some simple improvements. Its just unfortunate that they went cheap on the build from the beginning are at this point with a 13 year old stadium.

What r u mumbling about?

Tiger Stadium is fine, Alex Box Stadium is fine as well, Tiger Park is a good Soft Ball Park. The Football Dressing Rooms were recently remodeled. Football Facilities are all fairly new.

The Assembly Center needs to be replaced but all other facilities are fine.

The PMAC was state of the art when it was built so it was not half arse. It’s 50 years old and just needs major a major overhaul.

In the age of NIL does it matter?

When Wade was here his biggest gripe about the facilties was not with the PMAC. It was with the very bare-bones practice facility that doesn't have a weight room (like football) or any space for the coaches' offices. His bitch was the players had to practice in one spot. Workout in another. All with the coaches being located in a third building. Does that seem petty relative to real world problems? Of course. But in the era of the "facility arms race" it was an area in which LSU was behind.

The question now is are we still in that same era? The best and newest faculties used to be a big selling point for coaches. Now, the players want NIL deals. They would be find to practice in one place and workout in another as long as they have a 5-6 figure NIL deal that benefits them personally. From a coaching standpoint that is probably where you would prefer your booster funds be allocated over spending that money to improve a stadium that is still very capable holding games.

New stadiums only attract fans for a limited amount of time. If the program isn't winning people aren't going to show up. New stadium or not. If they are winning people will show. Duke's stadium is far from "modern". People still show. Allen Fieldhouse (Kansas) is almost 70 years old and isn't particularly "modern" (it doesn't have luxury suites). That doesn't stop them from drawing a crowd. Ole Miss has a new stadium that opened in 2016. They have struggled to reach 60% capacity in recent years because the program hasn't been great

Is the PMAC outdated relative to today's newer stadiums? Of course. Would it still be a rocking environment if LSU could win big on a consistent basis? Absolutely

Thank for proving my point, Slappy…

Put down your crayons for a minute and I’ll try to slowly explain…

I never mentioned the PMAC. To be clear, we need a new Basketball arena. Personally, I hate the PMAC for a number of reasons, and I’ve had season tickets since it opened today n ‘72. It will be replaced soon, and TAF and the Alumni who actually contribute, rather than douche bags who contribute nothing but stupid, anonymous criticism (that would be jerk offs like you, Slappy…), will make sure that LSU has a state of the art facility, just like THE BOX was when it was built.

As for the Box, sure it needs updating and they are also coming, but I’m willing to put serious money down that you’ve never been to even a third of the other baseball parks in n the SEC. It shows every time you post…

Here’s a suggestion, get up from the keyboard down at the public library, go circle some Want Ads for a better job, then take that extra income, actually purchase season tickets, contribute a couple of bucks to TAF, maybe even make a road trip, and then you might have a halfway decent chance to make an intelligent post…

I can safely bet I’m younger than you yet make more than you.

I don’t need a tour of all the parks to realize the box is just not top of the line anymore. It’s a bottom half park. It has nice features but it was always half assed. The out field fence looks junky, our batters eye is sad, we have so many shitty bleachers.

We have a nice club area and the players stuff is nice.

It’s still behind arky, A&M and State at min in the west. The ole miss atmosphere is much better than ours.

We should want the box to be the best, I wish it was but it’s not.

If $$$ were no object…

My vote would be to replace the PMAC with a new Ag Center with similar design to Dickies Arena in Fort Worth. Seats 13K for BB, 14K for concerts.

Then demo the PMAC & repurpose that space.

You admit you haven’t been to the other parks, but insist that you just “know”….

Again, thanks for proving my point…

As for Age and money,

1) I don’t give a damn as to your age, but your stupidity is timeless;

2) I’m just fine about how much I make, own and got it…

It'll be renovated, replacement is too expensive. It's a few years away from starting.

Really, I'm not trying to be combative, but why does LSU "need" a new basketball arena?

Yes, the building is 50 years old. Yes, it's design is outdated relative to newer stadiums. But it can still host games and it can still host fans without complications. If the team is a consistent winner and the matchups are good fans will show up. I don't know of too many fans who have said in recent years "You know. I'd love to go watch LSU play Kentucky next week. But the PMAC is just so old I think I will stay home."

As far as recruits, I don't think they are as enamored with a "great arena" as the fans want to believe. Especially now when they are far more concerned with NIL deals. If new, modern arenas made a huge difference, then Ole Miss would be bringing in a ton of talent. They aren't. Hell, LSU, with their old arena and a coach that had been on the job for a month, just brought in a better signing class that Ole Miss.

Would it be nice, as a fan, to watch a game in a newer arena? Sure. But I would MUCH rather watch a great basketball program compete in an "old" arena than watch a poor program compete in a new arena. If money is no object and LSU can build a new basketball arena without having any impact on any other aspects of the athletic dept (and fans), then by all means, do it. But assuming there is only a finite amount of available funds, I rather those go to aspects that have a much bigger impact on producing a consistently great program than a new arena.
