Because 2023 Mardi Gras week is not a typical / usual ski trip weekend. There is no way in hell that the prices will be cheaper in January than what it is right now.

Let me go back and add too...we wanted to fly southwest. Not sure yet if we will bring a snowboard for my daughter or not but for a ski trip we want the option to take as much luggage as we want. So, while I think prices may stay steady or have slight adjustments, I am fearing they will sell out of the cheaper fares which, if they add flights won't be a big deal but I don't want to be stuck having to buy different tickets at different prices just so we can get on the same flight
