Damn son....$1339/night for Lift Park City

It's definitely more than I am used to spending but it suits our needs. Wife is a non-skier and meets us at the base for lunch, ski school pick-up, etc. She spends a lot more time in the room than anyone else, so she wants something nice. I'm happy that she wants to go on ski trips with us even though she doesn't ski so I don't mind paying for a place she will enjoy.

That said prices are through the roof everywhere for the 22-23 season(especially that week)- Bidenflation, pent up demand from people skipping a season or two due to Covid, Presidents Day/Mardi Gras combo, etc. We went two years ago to Vail. I paid around $8.5k for lodging and lift tickets for a week. I decided to get a sanity check and priced the same room for Mardi Gras week this coming season. Just the condo was $21k.

Backpacker charter trips to Snowmass are running around $16k minimum for a family of four and that is something on the bus route outside of the village.

If you can book somewhere with a flexible cancelation policy you should pull the trigger now.

Yeah, you're def right. I've been looking at condos in Red Pine which is right under the gondola at Canyons....about half way up.

Whats bugging me is I have two other friends who are thinking about coming but won't decide. Both of them let the Epic Pass deal expire and are just dragging their feet. If they don't come it would just be the wife, the daughter and myself but if they do come it could be as many as 10 of us. Both of them are just last minute people.

After this thread last night I told the wife we need to just book for us and if they decide later they can figure it out themselves.

This is helpful information. We are first timers and trying to bring the kids to Park City. Having some sticker shock. Can anyone familiar with the area recommend a place for lodging that’s even reasonably affordable? Does not need to have all the bells and whistles. For reference, we are trying to go Ash Wednesday to Sunday and the places we are seeing are running around 2200/night.
