Before someone can tell your wife, “I’ll be your huckleberry.”

Kelly will play for a title within 3 years, winning one may take 5.

You have LSU playing for the national championship at least two times in the next five years. Well, I like your optimism.

It's actually huckle bearer

quote:

“That line in the movie, 'I'll be your Huckleberry,'” Kight said, 'that's actually 'huckle bearer,' which is the piece of hardware on a casket that you carry the casket with.” In other words, Holliday was warning Ringo that he was going to put him six feet under.

Alabama says hi.

I refuse to believe there is anything more magic about that state other than Nick Saban and his ability to recruit. He has shown how it can be done.

How about a winning season? How about winning SEC West? How about winning SEC? On here talking about national championship with a new coach. No patience at all.

Nil is going to take care of itself. 18 year olds with millions in the bank are going to have/be problems. I can’t imagine being in that position and going to class will be easy.

I say within 3 years. The players have bought into his system and he's recruiting players with talent and character. We are lucky to have a class act coach again that knows how to develop players and QBs. GEAUX TIGERS!

Kelly was the problem with recruiting at Notre Dame. It's well known. You are going to need to be blowing people away with nil because he will not help with recruiting at all, it will get worse the longer he's there. Right now he's new and you get political BK. "It's going to take time" We will put in our system"... It will run dry in 3 years.

I have no idea if he will win one here, especially with how murky the waters are at the moment with the NIL era upon us.

But I do have complete confidence in him winning a lot of games in Baton Rouge, and having us consistently as one of the Top 15 college football teams in the country on a year to year basis.

Fortunately for him, he stepping into a program that has two really good QB's that are young, with no bad tendencies from a previous staff, or mentally broken from a lack of confidence due to a number of potential issues.

That's half the battle right there. You have to have a top tier QB in order to be in the conversation of being a "National Championship team" these days.

And I know they haven't done anything yet, but I believe one of Nuss or Howard will become that under Kelly.

Just have to build up the wall in time for 2023 and beyond, so that they can do their job on the field.

You're delusional it you believe this. We need at least 3 years of progressive roster building to be in the mix.

Whether you agree with it or not, NIL has changed the college football landscape. Teams with recruiting disadvantages, that have big pockets, can use it to their advantage. Recruits that otherwise wouldn't have considered those schools will start to give them a look now that $ is involved. Schools that choose to oppose it with the attitude of "Oh, we're ___________; we can get top recruits without NIL" will get left behind.
