If that happened to me, I'd have a healthy hate for New Orleans. Even accounting for the normal major shithole aspects of New Orleans, I'd say you are either about as unlucky as they come (other than those who are actually killed by bullets meant for some other thug) or you were making some suspect decisions in the past. Either way, glad you made it out ok.

Y’all can downvote but you can’t respond, typical.

The issues in New Orleans are real, but if you can’t tell when a political commentator is hamming things up to score points I don’t know what to tell you other than you’re just not that bright.

What’s to respond to? Nola is the worst it’s been in recent memory and that’s saying a lot with two horrible inept mayors worried more about fringe leftist ideals than making the city better or even decent.

So fricking yes it needs to be highlighted, exposed shouted from the rooftops until something is done, a shite ton of shite is done.

And you know this so frick You for being obtuse and trying it make it into just a political issue. Shitstain.

Everything you love about New Orleans is because of Baton Rouge car clubs

Sometimes it’s hard to tell if Baton Rouge people or Mobile people have a bigger inferiority complex when it comes to New Orleans.

You can’t lie to my eyes. I lived downtown through most of 2021. Outside of Katrina, I have never seen the city so lawless or felt so utterly unsafe just walking around doing every day things, even in broad daylight. It was so bad that I was refusing to stop for gas in Orleans Parish, I was getting attacked walking my large dog after work, seeing folks doing donuts and firing guns in the air on Poydras, and witnessing tourists bleed out from stab wounds on a Wednesday night before 10 less than 100ft from The NOPD precinct in the quarter.

“War-zone” is an accurate moniker. If anything, it’s under-selling it. New Orleans was more dangerous last year than was Baghdad during the surge.

Does the metro crime commission include reports of crimes? 911 calls? Or just arrests?

Well, for one, it’s not an actual war zone as depicted. If you look at the stats the metrocrime.org group put together you’ll see the rate of crime increase has been steadily slowing as the jail population has been going back up after it dropped significantly in late 2020. That’s not to say the crime situation in New Orleans (or most other major metro areas) is “good”, because it isn’t. But the report was clearly designed for partisan purposes to cherry-pick juicy footage in order to present the image that New Orleans is descending into chaos, which is just flat out not true.

I like how you didn’t watch it, complained about Tucker being disingenuous, went back and watched it, and then molded your argument to fit your narrative.

That’s pretty pathetic, even for a radical left extremist such as yourself

You can correctly reference the murder rates in the mid 90's as being worse. Hell, 2 of the most infamous murders in that period involved NOPD officers Len Davis and Antoinette Frank. Other than that, your pre--Katrina statement is jaw dropping in its stupidity. I was born and raised in New Orleans, moving to the Las Vegas area just before Hurricane Katrina. I don't recall I-10 shootings, daylight robberies and carjackings being a constant problem then. Be a nice fellow and show me what I missed, would ya?

Just for reference, the last 2 Mayors of Las Vegas have been...former Mob lawyer Oscar Goodman, followed by his wife Carolyn. This is the city that just renamed its airport in honor of God awful Harry Reid. Yet, even folks HERE laugh at the corruption and the complete incompetence of New Orleans these days. Let THAT sink in.

New Orleans carjackings in the late 90s ushered in a new law that protected the driver if they killed the carjacker. Something like 200 in the first 6 months of 1996.
