Currently driving a 2018 2500 Denali, I use it for towing daily and didn’t want to get caught with a truck out of warranty and unable to get a reasonable rental. I was offered $3k less than what I paid for the truck 30 months ago against straight MSRP on a new truck.
I ordered a Silverado 3500 High Country on March 15, the truck was built on May 10, and has been sitting in a lot in Flint Michigan waiting on a train to bring it to Port Allen ever since then.
My point is that even if GM gets all the Microchips for all those built vehicles, it will be 6 months clearing the backlog. I think it’ll be the 2024 model year before we see any inventory on new car lots, if then.

A few weeks ago I saw a report that GM had 15k HD's sitting waiting for rail transport.

I bought 2021 2500 Silverado 6.6 gas burner last July. It was headed to the dealership bought it sight unseen. Costco had a $1000 Silverado rebate at tge time and wife works for a GM supplier so I got that additional 3% off. I feel very fortunate to get the truck I wanted and about 4K off of sticker.
Gerry lane wouldn’t take any of the rebates or the supplier discount.
