He was 6 foot 165 pound righty that threw a mid 80’s fastball. It’s really not hard to see why they went in another direction. They were wrong that happens in recruiting. How many players with that makeup does LSU recruit period? Hilliard at least had an elite spin rate on his curveball coming out of high school.

Definitely a late bloomer. His K/BB ratio is 139/12! Incredible stat in any conference!!
