Are they, though? Most of their success, which was arguably better than Bama's during that stretch, was from 30s to 50s.

Do you realize that if not for Clint Stoerner's fumble Tennessee's last national title would be 70 years ago? 1951.

They've not won an SEC title in 25 years. LSU's drought that seemed like an eternity was only 13 years: 1988 to 2001.

Tennessee is definitely in the bottom half unless you still put a lot of weight in the leather helmet era.

Tenn has a national championship, rabid fan base and puts players in the NFL. I could argue swapping them with A&M as each is on the cusp. But, I do think Tenn is going to need to match up with 2 of the “have nots” (Vandy UK Ark Missou)and A&M will get OU and LSU plus Arkansas (still scared of Texas I’m guessing)
